Kevin Kelly’s very useful blog Cool Tools has an entry about the Sony Portable Reader, which the reviewer thinks trumps the Iliad. I have been meaning to get one of these devices for a while – looks like it will be Sony, on the theory that it is better to get one device that does things well than one that does many things less well. Anyone with Iliad experience?

Interesting product. It may work well for fiction, but how does it deal with more technical reading that greatly benefit from illustrations to understand the concepts? I have a feeling I will let the technology develop somewhat more before getting one, but I won’t knock it ’til I’ve tried it. Wait, I just did.
